I’ve got a really awesome workout to share with you today – I think you’re gonna love this one!
As you may know I recently passed my Crossfit Level 1 trainer’s test and have been using many CrossFit style Workout Of The Days (or WOD’s) in my own workouts ever since. Many of you have asked if you can perform CrossFit workouts in your home or in the gym without attending a CrossFit box – and the answer is YES you can!
Today I’m showing you a modified version of the popular ‘Fran’ CrossFit workout. When performed traditionally, trainees go back and More >

Can You Weather A Storm?
Oct 31st
In case you don’t know Angry Trainer Fitness is based on the East Coast – I’m in Connecticut and my site producers Richard and Roger are in Hoboken New Jersey. And unless you live under a rock, you know that Hurricane Sandy just made her presence known in many areas with high winds and flooding taking down trees, power lines and leaving many of us in the dark – literally. I’ve been really lucky with just a few minutes of power loss, but others haven’t been so fortunate. And all across the area the Internet is offline and cell service More >

Ask Alfonso: Can I Perform Crossfit At Home?
Aug 27th
Hey Alfonso!
So I’ve been warming up to the idea of CrossFit style workouts lately…but I don’t have a box near to where I live and the nearest one is wickedly expensive.
Would you suggest CrossFit style workouts at home?
If so, what would you recommend doing? Thanks!

2 Weeks To Showtime: I’m On Track!
Aug 5th
Wow – the time is flying by!
I’ll be on stage this August 18th, a little less than two weeks from now. This is what they call ‘crunch’ time and any room I had to wiggle in my diet or training is gone. I have to be 100% focused or I run the risk of not looking how I want.
Believe it or not, I think that right now I’m the best I’ve ever looked! Which means I expect to show up on contest day with the best conditioning I’ve ever had. When I was in my 20’s and competing, I always More >
4 Weeks To Showtime: Yikes – I’ve Gained Weight!
Jul 22nd
Another week has passed and in just one month I’ll be on stage at a local bodybuilding show.
This week was tough for me as I really pushed myself hard and may have over-trained a bit. Plus I had a mighty big surprise – I GAINED weight! I had reached
a low of 199 pounds at the beginning of the week, which I hadn’t been since the age of 21. Just yesterday I weighed myself and I’m 205! Trust me when I say I’m perplexed.
It can’t be water weight because this week I cut way back on carbohydrates and my diet closely More >
Ask Alfonso: I Got Lazy! How Do I Start Over?
Jul 18th
Hi Alfonso,
I just found your blog and I love it – please help:
I used to work out all the time but I ate terribly, smoked and drank. In the last 5 years I’ve quit smoking, hardly drink and I don’t eat processed foods. BUT I’ve become lazy.
I’m in perfect medical health and last year I even gave my uncle a kidney! Now at 36 and with 1 kidney I really need to be as healthy as I can for the rest of my life.
I tried starting P90X but it’s SO intense. Here’s the kicker – I have a heavy bag, More >
