I just read your reply to a girl that asked about tightening up belly. I am also a Personal Trainer and have been working out since I was in elementary school. I would like to hear you opinion on this:
Do you think that some people are just not born to have a six-pack? I have rock hard legs, arms, and my fat accumulates in my abs and back. Last time I checked I was at 17% bodyfat. I have seen and trained girls with the same or more bf% than me that have abs.
I workout twice a day because More >
I discovered your site a few months ago and love your balance of expert advice and no-nonsense fitness. I’m a working mom to a three-year-old son and have been working hard over the last three months to shed 15 pounds with clean eating, weights and cardio. I work out four days per week.
I’d like to incorporate HIIT training (High Intensity Interval Training) into my routine to help me shed more fat while keeping the muscle I’m building – but how often and how long should I perform HIIT for?
Can you explain the benefits of both LISS and HIIT and which is better to use and when? My main goal, right now is fat loss. I know a lot of it is in my diet and I am tightening that as we speak.
Thanks for everything. - Antionette
Hey Antionette! Great question. I was wondering when someone was going to ask this. No doubt you’ve heard me recently talk about long, boring cardio (L.I.S.S.) sessions in preparation for an upcoming bodybuilding show. But you should know that elsewhere on the site I’ve also praised H.I.T.T. training. So actually I’m a More >
I love the site. It’s been a huge help for me as I’ve been trying to make up for a few years of poor eating/drinking and trying to get back to my old, healthier self.
My question is regarding the circuit style of training that you’re fond of. I completely agree with the aerobic benefits and the fact that it works the whole body. My problem is that when working out in the crowded weight room the weights or benches or machines that are available at the beginning of a circuit aren’t available later in the routine, and I More >
I am sooooo needing to lean out after a rough year and emotional eating. I have about 10–15 pounds I want to lose but just can’t get cut again.
I love Zuzana’s workouts but I wonder if that is enough to lean out alone or if I need to go back to traditional weights and cardio?
There is so much information out there about being in your target heart rate for fat loss vs. HIIT etc. I would love to hear your ideas!
I’m really confused. I’ve read so many articles about circuit training, intervals, HIIT training, muscle confusion and metabolic circuits?
My friend did a metabolic circuit while I was using P90X and he looks much better than I do. He lost more fat and looks like he gained more muscle.
Can you explain what exactly a metabolic circuit is?
Here it is – another Angry Trainer Fitness workout video!

Today we’ve got a slight change. Everybody that knows me is aware of just how much I love kettlebells and that I use them regularly in my routines. Many of you are intrigued by these exercise tools, but just don’t know where to start or how to exercise with a kettlebell properly. Well wonder no more…
This week I’ve put together More >
Time for yet ANOTHER new strand here at Angry Trainer Fitness – and one that I think a lot of you are going to find VERY helpful.
You may remember a few days ago we launched a contest to win a copy of the new book Working Out Sucks (if you haven’t entered yet – what are you waiting for – there’s just one day to go!)
To enter the contest I asked each of you to submit your current workout and provide me with as many details as possible so that I could give you some feedback on your regime. So today I’m picking More >
