The subject of today’s podcast is all too common – how to find a trainer that listens to your needs.
Katie wrote to me after struggling to find a fitness professional that puts together a program that she likes – an all too common complaint I’ve heard many times before…
Truthfully some of the blame with not being happy with a trainer rests on the trainee’s shoulders. When looking for a personal trainer, you must interview, ask for referrals, and do a bit of homework to make sure they’re a good fit. Don’t just settle for who’s available.

Hey everyone – it’s Ask Alfonso time again – and since I’m typing with one hand at the moment, I decided to do today’s answer as a Podcast!
Lynne has lost over 100 pounds and is getting a lot of different opinions on whether or not her excess skin will return back to its previously taut state.
She’s tried changing her diet, varied her workouts, and hasn’t seen any change. So she’s asked for the Angry Trainer’s opinion.
Here’s what I had to say!
Hope you find it useful too…
Today’s Ask Alfonso podcast should resonate with a lot of you out there.
Frances works a desk job and can’t afford a gym membership. She walks 20 – 30 minutes per day, but can’t seem to lose the last 10 pounds. So she wants to know what she should do – and eat – next!
The thing is this – as I always say, you don’t need a gym to get fit. With some creativity and a few inexpensive tools, you can get an amazing workout not just in your home, but anywhere. And walking can be part of your exercise arsenal.

You’ve probably noticed our recent videos which we’ve been posting here on the site. Well, we’re only just getting started!
Earlier in the week Team ATF shot some more segments which we’re going to be rolling out over the next few weeks – these videos have a different look – and our next batch will also feature a different style. We aim to keep you on your toes!
We’re kicking off with an Ask Alfonso. Yep, now I’m going to be answering a few of your questions in the flesh. (BTW you may notice a larger tattoo More >
Over the years I’ve come to realize that there are two types of people who engage in regular exercise – those that do TOO LITTLE and those that do TOO MUCH!
Ironically, the effects on your body can be the same in both of these scenarios – both under-exercising and over-exercising can lead to fat gain, lethargy, joint pain and decreased fitness levels.
Today’s Ask Alfonso Podcast is my response to Lynette, who wonders if she’s working out too much. After losing 100 pounds, she’s reached a plateau and doesn’t know what to do next in order to keep losing weight.

I’m feeling very frustrated and not sure what to do about it, so I figured I would ask you after combing through the website and listening to your podcasts religiously.
When I started the exercise portion of my journey, I did a fitness assessment at a weight of 141 lbs and 22.4% body fat (height is 5’6″). At this point I set a goal to reach 20% body fat in the next 3 months. (Side note – the body fat percentage test is the 5 points calipers).

I love your site/workouts. I have a question that may be a bit premature, but I’ll ask it anyway. I recently suffered a nasty cut on my finger, which required a bunch of stitches. I was told they suspect I cut my tendons and will require surgery.
I’ll find out in a few days but in the meantime, I CANNOT give up working out. So I’ve been doing some lower body workouts, lunges, plyos, working on treadmill, on an incline, etc. I’m just wondering if you could recommend any exercises/routines that I could do now and/or if end up having More >
It’s time for another Ask Alfonso podcast – and the subject today is weight loss, an evergreen topic here at Angry Trainer Fitness and one I know hits home with many of you out there….
Maia, like many people I meet, has a lot of weight loss questions; how long should it take to lose weight, what exercises should she use, and how often should she work out?
Unfortunately, while weight loss principles are universal, each person responds differently, so there isn’t just one way. But in today’s podcast I’m giving Maia some simple suggestions to get her on her way.
