Hello and welcome! I’m career certified personal trainer Alfonso Moretti aka ‘The Angry Trainer’. What makes me different? It’s simple. I’ve taken my 24 years of experience in the fitness industry and created a website to share what I’ve learned and experienced over the last two decades – both with clients and in my own personal fitness journey. I’m dedicated to telling the TRUTH about the fitness industry – what works AND more importantly what doesn’t.
The fact is EVERYONE wants to be fitter and healthier – but people are confused. They don’t know what to eat, how to exercise or who to believe. So they opt for short cuts and easy fixes, many times out of desperation. The result? Two thirds of our nations population is overweight or obese.
My goal is to give people the tools and information they need to take charge of their health, fitness, future and life.
For over 20 years I was based in the New York Tri- State area. I’ve worked in fitness centers, private studios in suburbia and spent many years in home training. In 2014 I moved to Southern California, the fitness capital of the world.
I’m now living my dream and working in an exclusive Beverly Hills training facility. I’m very proud to say that I’ve authored my first book ‘Shut Up and Work Out!’ and a second book is on the way!

This is just the beginning – we have BIG plans for the site – and the Angry Trainer brand…. So watch this space! Now it’s time to introduce our first poll – a feature we’re going to be running on a regular basis here on the site. This time around we’re going to deal with a topic that always drives me crazy – gym etiquette. I don’t know about you but I can’t believe how badly some people behave when they’re working out… grrr – it makes me want to unleash the Angry Trainer on them! So which behavior gets your goat when you’re at your local gym… vote for one of the options below via our poll in the left hand sidebar – and we’ll give you the results a little later down the line…
ASK ALFONSO: TWEEN TEMPTATIONS
I’m a 32 year old mom with two girls aged 10 and 12. I work full time and lead a very busy life, but have managed to generally stay in shape. However my husband, Rick, is around 250 lbs and hasn’t exercised for the last 10 years (much to my frustration) I’ve made peace with the fact that Rick is out of shape, but our two kids are also now quite overweight – by a good 30 lbs each in my estimation. I try to give the kids healthy food – but when their dad is eating burgers and pizza I’m fighting a losing battle. Rick says the kids can lose the weight when they’re older and if I keep on at them I’ll make them paranoid about the way they look. So what do I do? How can I get the kids to shape up – without causing a full-scale family riot? Please help Patty, Tennessee
THE 10 FITTEST MALE CELEBRITIES OVER 50
So here’s a new feature we’re launching on Angry Trainer Fitness where we count down the Top 10 contenders in a key category – chosen by yours truly! Now a lot of magazines and websites love to talk about Fit Celebrity Bodies. Normally they pick the usual suspects like LL Cool J, Matthew McConaughey and Chris Evans. But we like to do things a little differently here at the Angry Trainer – so here’s my list of the 10 Fittest Men Over 50… because you truly can be fit at ANY age… My rationale in selecting men was to find guys who throughout their career have always managed to stay fit, toned, and in shape, not for a role, not for a show, but for LIFE. Some of these guys I used to watch on TV more than 20 years ago! To say that they still look great now is an understatement. Youth provides all of us with a bit more forgiveness on the exercise front, so when I see men in their 50's and older looking great, I know it's because they chose to take care of themselves and made a commitment to health and fitness. So here we go… in no particular order…except for #1.
