Ask Alfonso: Should I Go ‘All Out’ In My Workouts?
Mar 11th
Hey Alfonso,
First of all thank you for all the good advice. Recently I tried the CrossFit “Kool Aid” and I must say it’s a great work out. Some of the guys I work with do it and talked me into it. Now I’m not what you would call the poster child of fitness but I’m trying.
When I first started working out I was doing mostly cardio and then ending my workout with some circuit training and I felt great after. I would do about an hour to an hour and a half per day. Now with the CrossFit I More >
Angry Issues: How Do You Choose Which Sneakers To Wear?
Mar 9th
If you had met me about 5 years ago, the only sneaker you would have seen me wearing were old school Chuck Taylors, both the low and high top version. Truthfully I think I have over 20 pairs in various colors! Fast forward to present day and my knowledge of sneakers and footwear has grown considerably.
I want to know how you choose your sneakers?
I’m really fortunte that I’ve partnerd with Reebok because I’ve been exposed to different styles of sneakers and have a much better understanding of what goes into sneaker technology and design. I’m aiming to share with More >
Ask Alfonso: I Miss Eating Grains!
Mar 8th
Hey Alfonso!
How are you? I’ve been following the site for a few months now, and I have to say I’m finding it incredibly helpful!
Recently I started modifying my diet to include less dairy and grains, but as a chef I’m really missing out on some of these ingredients!
I hear both good and bad reviews about Almond Flours and Coconut flours, and I’m looking to have something to ease the loss of breads and pastas. What’s your experience with them?
James
Hey James, how are you? I hear you my man. I grew up eating loaves of Italian bread with butter More >
Product Review: Reebok ATV 19
Mar 7th
By now you all know I’m a Reebok Ambassador. I’ve visited headquarters in Canton Massachusetts twice, attended my CrossFit Level 1 training at Reebok CrossFit One and have also been to Reebok 5th Ave in NYC on several occasions for training and product seminars.
One look at my Facebook and Instagram pages and it’s clear – I Love Reebok.
Not only do I love the gear, but I also love the company and what it stands for. In short, Reebok’s philosophy is that they want you to live a healthy and fit life – to Live With Fire. And as such, Reebok is aligning More >
Fitness Fact Or Fiction: Is Granola REALLY A Healthy Food?
Mar 6th
It’s crunchy and often salty, you can add to yogurt, eat it by the handful, use it in salads, add it to fruit or even eat in your morning cereal. And many people look at granola as ‘natures energy food’ and believe it to be a great choice when trying to eat a healthful diet.
But is granola really a good choice?
Let’s get my feelings out of the way first. Since I eat a mostly Paleo plan that includes no wheat or grains, most traditional granola isn’t in my diet (more on that later). But let’s say you’re not a More >
Ask Alfonso: Are People ‘Born’ To Have Six-Packs?
Mar 4th
Hello brother!
I just read your reply to a girl that asked about tightening up belly. I am also a Personal Trainer and have been working out since I was in elementary school. I would like to hear you opinion on this:
Do you think that some people are just not born to have a six-pack? I have rock hard legs, arms, and my fat accumulates in my abs and back. Last time I checked I was at 17% bodyfat. I have seen and trained girls with the same or more bf% than me that have abs.
I workout twice a day because More >

Lately I’ve been getting a lot of letters from people who are just starting an exercise program and feel lost as to what they should do.
