It’s January and many of you have set a New Years resolution to lose weight… so how’s it going so far? Perhaps you need a little extra motivation?

Perhaps you’ve heard of DietBet, the fun new movement that’s getting a whole lot of attention at the moment. The DietBet team were recently featured on the Today Show and the same day reached out to us here at Angry Trainer Fitness to launch an ATF partnership.

The idea is simple – you bet on yourself to lose weight – and if you do you’ll win some money! We all know there’s nothing like some good old-fashioned green to motivate people. In fact studies have shown that when there’s a financial incentive, people tend to lose more weight and stay more dedicated to a health and fitness program.

So here’s how it works. The Angry Trainer Diet Bet Challenge starts on February 1st and will last for 4 weeks – or 28 days!

You sign up and pay your $30 ‘bet’ fee into the pot. If after 28 days you’ve lost 4% of your bodyweight, you split the pot with all of the other people who also hit their target. When joining you’ll be asked to submit your starting weight and a current photo and 28 days later you’ll repeat the process. It’s as simple as that! Lose weight, stay motivated and you could win! Easy money right?

I’ll be taking part in the game as well – and will be offering lots of tips, advice and suggestions along the way. I’d really like to see families, co-workers and groups of friends participate in this together. Let’s try to get as many on board as possible.
