Can You Survive a Horror Movie

As you may know The Angry Trainer likes to dabble in the TV world from time to time and over the years I’ve made a few guest appearances on a range of shows. Years ago I competed in a Fox reality show called Boot Camp (finishing third) and more recently I filmed segments for MTV’s Silent Library and Spike’s Ink Master…

Well now I’m back in another TV show and this one’s a pretty spooky affair!

The show’s called Can You Survive A Horror Movie and will be airing this Friday 13th at 9pm EST on the Chiller network!

Here’s the back story!

By now you’re probably heard me talking about Richard and Roger, my site producers. Well the guys don’t just work in the social media world – their day job is TV and they’re the owners of a production company called Savannah Media. Over the years Richard’s produced shows for networks including A&E, Fox, TLC, Travel, Lifetime, Vh1, G4, Sundance, Investigation Discovery, E! and many more. He’s also the guy behind the keystrokes at our sister site Remote Patrolled, a website that’s all about TV from a producer’s point of view. Well Can You Survive A Horror Movie is Richard’s brainchild and I feel very fortunate to be a part of the project!

So what’s the show about? It’s simple and genius at the same time. Have you ever watched a horror movie and wondered what you’d do if you were faced with the same scenario in real life? If a killer was in your house, how would you move around without being heard and what household items would help in your defense? What about if you were attacked by a shark (a la Jaws?) Or buried alive… what would be the best way to survive? Take a look at the show trailer and you’ll get the idea…!

 Can You Survive explores these topics with a team of experts all offering their specialist advice. I’m handling the fitness side of things and there’s a self defense specialist, a couple of doctors, a cop, a psychologist, an animal expert, horror aficionados and even a couple of scream queens!

But that’s not all. There’s a whole other side of the show featuring the three show hosts – Anthony, Annie and Morgan, as they personally take on some movie style challenges themselves. Annie comes face to face with 60 rats, Anthony gets buried alive and let’s just say you don’t want to watch the show’s Blood Feast if you’re eating your dinner! I saw a preview of the show last month and it’s terrific fun – think Mythbusters meets 1,000 Ways To Die crossed with Fear Factor.

As part of my role I got to join the three hosts for their first show challenge which was all about surviving a zombie attack! Check out the exclusive clip below on my You Tube channel as we set up the stunt. Now you know what to do if you’re ever faced with a zombie invasion…

By the way if you’re a horror movie fan you may recognize our shooting location! Yep, that’s the actual Camp Crystal Lake as featured in the original Friday 13th movie. Cool, huh!
