Today’s Ask Alfonso is a little different. I’m honored to say I receive a lot of positive feedback here at Angry Trainer Fitness and I don’t normally post these comments on the site. But Berit has been a regular ATF reader for a while now and I wanted to take this opportunity to post her letter and talk about why I do what I do on a daily basis. Thanks everyone!
Yesterday I finished my first 10k and I just wanted to say thank you! Without you and Angry Trainer Fitness I would not be where I am today.
Thank you for your ongoing motivation and enthusiasm that positively jumps at me from every article I read at your site.

Congratulations on your 10k. It’s an awesome accomplishment and feeling isn’t it? You know I usually answer questions here in the Ask Alfonso section, but I thought this was a perfect time to say thank you to you and everyone else that follows me.
The truth is that I NEED all of you in my life. I can’t tell you how satisfying it is to get letters like yours and how much it reinforces my passion for fitness and health. It’s really quite amazing how much answering questions and researching various subjects has forced me to grow as a person – and a trainer!
Listening to all of your comments and thoughts, even the ones that attack or disagree with me, have taught me to see other points of view. And it’s an awesome feeling to know that I too am growing and learning from Angry Trainer Fitness as much as all of you are. Without the questions, comments and participation, I’d be stuck in a rut with my own way of thinking. I had no idea when we launched the site that my involvement in it would change how I think and see life in general, not just fitness. Even though many of you have only communicated with me via online or email, I feel like I have friends all over the world that share in my quest for health and fitness knowledge. I feel very blessed.
Who knew 20 years ago when I was first working as a trainer that I’d get letters from all over the world to ask me questions, give props to what I’m doing and show love and support. The really great thing is how many times I’ve been wrong or changed my point of view based on reader’s comments and suggestions. Years ago I was a ‘know it all’ (can you believe it!!!) but I’ve learned from all of you and now my best asset is an open mind. I could go on and on about how much ATF has changed my life - but in the end I’d like to say a simple thank you Berit. Thank you for trusting me with your health and fitness. Thank you for supporting and pushing me to be better. Thank you for relying on me and making me feel appreciated and valued.
