The Angry Trainer Undergoes Surgery!
Aug 31st
You may recall about a month ago I suffered a left biceps tendon tear. The initial injury was brought on by performing concentration curls with a 50 lb dumbbell about 6 weeks ago. While I felt a pop in the bottom position, I thought the damage was minimal and was possibly just a strain. And unlike when I hurt my back several months ago, I stopped immediately, and iced and rested it for two weeks. It felt so great as if nothing was wrong, so I went back to my regular exercise program full force.
But after teaching and clearing up More >

Hello friends in fitness, check this out!
It’s time for another Angry Trainer Fitness video as we continue our Exercise Rights And Wrongs strand, where I show you the right AND wrong way to perform a commonly misunderstood exercise.
Today’s video is all about the “guns”, yes the almighty biceps muscles. Few muscles make such an impression as a great set of arms, but sadly I see people cheating, swinging, and practicing bad form on a daily basis. Check out my tips and feel free to leave your comments and questions.

Sean Penn: 51 And Fit – But Is He Really?
Aug 30th
We are truly a nation obsessed with physical appearance. I’m guilty of it, and billions of others are as well. And we all know most people diet and exercise in an attempt to change how they look, rather than improve their health. But as I always say there’s a diffenece between looking fit and actually being fit…
Yesterday I saw the above photo of Sean Penn in the British tabloid The Sun running in Malibu with his young girlfriend. And man does he look awesome! Don’t forget, Sean’s no spring chicken – this guy is 51. But is Sean really a More >
5 Tips In 5 Minutes: 5 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Machines (Podcast)
Aug 29th
If you’ve been following my Angry Trainer exercise ideology for a while now, you’ll know I’m generally not a fan of machines. The reason is simple: in most cases the machine does most of the work – meaning you don’t receive the full benefits of your workouts
But that doesn’t have to be the case! If you use machines in a smart way they can be a useful tool in your fitness arsenal.
So in this 5 Tips In 5 Minutes I’m sharing a few suggestions to get the most out of your favorite machine. Try these tips out and let me know More >
Ask Alfonso: Is High Altitude Training Better For My Body?
Aug 29th
Hi Alfonso
What are your thoughts on High Altitude “Replica” training?
I work and mostly train at high altitude, although my home is 3000 ft. lower. While at home, I like to workout and try to replicate the high altitude conditions by wearing a ski mask with a towel covering my mouth and nose.
Is there anything I should be aware of before I push myself too far?
Thanks, Ilie
Fast Food Fix: Chipotle
Aug 27th
This installment of Fast Food Fix is unique.
Yep, we’ve finally come across a restaurant that promotes healthy nutrition through use of unprocessed foods. Chipotle has its act together. In fact the website nutrition guide even says, “all calories are not created equal”, and that it’s important to know the source of your food, not just how many calories a particular meal has.
Sounds good, but do the numbers back it up?
This is usually the part of the post where I would list my 3 best choices. But truthfully the entire menu is great! You have your choice of burritos with beans, chicken More >
