I have to be honest, when I read today’s Ask Alfonso question, I almost decided to not answer it. Joan wrote to me and basically sounded as though she was throwing in the towel because she’s, wait for it, FORTY!
Joan says she finds it extremely hard to lose weight now that she’s in her fourth decade, and wants to know if there’s any “data” to back up her notion of it being a hopeless endeavor. I figure if she has this train of thought, there may be others out there that think the same way.
I’m sure you all know that if Joan was looking for someone to agree with her idea, she’s come to the wrong place! The truth is you can make progress at any age, and while it may be more of a challenge as we get older, stubbornness will always succumb to perseverance. That line sums up how I feel about excuses.
So listen to my suggestions for Joan and let me know what you think.
